THE WORLD OF NAVARRE

Basgiath War College is the most dangerous school in the world. First-year cadets must cross the parapet — walk a narrow beam over a chasm — simply to enroll. Many don't survive.

If you survive the parapet, you must bond a dragon. Dragons choose their riders — and if they don't choose you, they eat you.

Riders develop signet powers — unique magical abilities tied to their bonded dragon. Violet Sorrengail's is the rarest: lightning.

Beyond the wards, the venin gather — power-hungry dark wielders who drain the earth's magic, corrupting everything they touch. Only the War College stands between them and Navarre.
